More than 600 guests attended the 4th Annual Aztec For Life Homecoming Celebration to benefit the Marshall Faulk Foundation on Oct. 7 at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on the campus of San Diego State University.
 The night kicked off with a VIP Sponsors’ Recognition Reception at the Fowler Athletics Center. Guests walked the red carpet and mingled with former Aztec greats like Bud Black, Vincent Brown, Az Hakim, Freddy Keiaho, and many others.
Following the reception, guests were greeted at the Alumni Center by SDSU Cheer, Dance, and Pep Band rallying guests with the fight song. While bidding on fabulous auction items, all attendees enjoyed live entertainment provided from San Diego favorite, NRG. Tasting stations treated guests to signature items from prime rib to lobster orzotto. 2011 tasting stations included Fleming’s, J Six, Pamplemousse Grille, BICE, and many others. The live auction included a trip to Panama, a Cabo getaway, Padres box seats, and a custom-framed American flag honoring the victims of 9/11.
As the auction came to a close, guests enjoyed a late night menu from Sushi on the Rock and FitZee foods while NRG entertained everyone on the dance floor.
Fundraising exceeded all expectations by nearly doubling 2010’s efforts and netting almost $117,000 for the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA, the SDSU Aztec Club to support SDSU Aztec Football Program scholarships, and to additional area community groups.
